Whether you're an active pilot or returning after time away, Astoria Aviation offers a range of services to help you stay current, confident, and safe in the air. Our instructors provide refresher flights, currency training, and Flight Reviews, and we offer aircraft rentals for pilots who meet checkout requirements.

Aircraft Rentals

Rent our well-maintained Piper Cherokees and Cessnas for local flights, training, or cross-country trips. All rentals require a checkout flight with an instructor prior to solo rental privileges.

Rental Includes: ​

  • Well-maintained aircraft

  • Pre-flight briefing as needed

  • Local or cross-country use

  • Fuel policy 

  • Airport access at Astoria Regional (KAST)​

Aircraft Rental Rates:

Piper PA-28-140 (VFR Rental)

Reliable trainer ideal for day and night VFR flying.​

Rate: $ 145 / hour

​

Cessna 150F Aircraft Rental
Efficient, economical aircraft perfect for local flights and pattern work.
Rate: $ 135 / hour

​

Piper PA-28-140 (IFR Rental)
IFR-equipped aircraft available to qualified instrument-rated pilots.
Rate: $ 165 / hour

​

Instructor Rate (Checkout, Currency, BFR): $ 65 / hour

Rental Requirements

  • Current and appropriate pilot license and certificates (e.g., Private Pilot Certificate, valid FAA Medical Certificate, as   applicable).

  •  Successful checkout with an Astoria Aviation instructor.

  •  Proof of rental insurance.

Currency/Refresher

Many pilots return after a break in flying and need a supportive, structured refresher. Whether you need day or night takeoffs and landings, practice maneuvers, or confidence-building flights, our instructors can help.

You can schedule:

  • Day or night currency flights

  • Pattern work

  • Airwork review

  • Emergency procedures

  • Navigation or cross-country refreshers

  • Confidence-building lessons

Rates:

  • Instructor Rate: $ 65/hour

  • Bring Your Own Aircraft: Instructor available for $65/hour 

Flight Reviews (BFR)

A Flight Review (formerly the Biennial Flight Review) is required every 24 calendar months for all pilots. Our instructors provide a thorough, supportive review tailored to your experience level.

Includes:​

  • 1 hour ground instruction

  • 1 hour flight time (or more as needed)

  • Review of regulations

  • Maneuvers and procedures

  • Logbook endorsement upon completion

Rate: $250

IFR Currency & Instrument Proficiency Checks

Instrument-rated pilots can maintain or regain IFR currency with one of our certified instructors. If more than six months have passed since your last instrument approaches, we offer tailored IFR refresher flights or a full Instrument Proficiency Check (IPC).

Includes:

  • Approaches and holds

  • Intercepting & tracking courses

  • Unusual attitude recovery

  • Partial-panel work (as applicable)

  • IPC sign-off if required

Rate: $250

Instruction in Your Aircraft

If you prefer to train in your own aircraft, our instructors are available for checkouts, refreshers, currency training, and Flight Reviews.

Available Services:

  • Checkout in your aircraft

  • Emergency procedure refreshers

  • Cross-country or navigation help

  • Tailwheel/basic aircraft differences (if applicable)

  • BFRs in your own aircraft

Instructor Rate: $65/hour
